French Lessons for English Speakers
Learn the REAL French you were never taught in school!
Bonjour, I'm Claire
Let's get you speaking French!
I grew up in Paris. When I moved to the UK, I thought school had taught me English well enough... so why couldn't I understand a word? And why did everyone greet me with "Hey up, me duck?"
While I was busy learning real, spoken English, my neighbours talked me into teaching them French. That was in 1997 and I've loved it ever since.
Over nearly 30 years I've developed my own way of teaching spoken French to English speakers. I teach online so you can join me from anywhere.
And I know how it feels to be a learner - I'm learning Spanish myself!
1
Who I help
My students are adults who want French they can really use for their holiday, to settle in with confidence if they're planning to retire or work in France, or simply enjoy conversation and French culture. If school French never stuck, you're in good company.

How I teach
Speaking comes first. From your very first lesson you'll build real sentences, not memorise lists of words. I explain grammar in plain English, only when you need it, and teach the everyday French people actually speak. My lessons are relaxed and friendly.
