NB. It's called Level 1 because it's the first of 4 levels. I am currently working on level 2, where you will have an in-depth look and practice at the present tense, the perfect tense and much more set expressions. Keep an eye on my emails!
The foundation lessons are useful for the complete beginner, as it covers basics such as time, weather, date, numbers, phonetics, etc that are not covered in the body of the course. It also has a list of verbs that are almost the same in French and English, so you will already know quite a few before you even start!
The videos cover a lot of everyday vocabulary, structures and verbs that you need to speak French at a basic level (having said that, even some of my advanced students didn't know a few of these structures). We will start with basic sentence openers such as "il y a" and "c'est" and we will also make use of expressions using the infinitive (je voudrais, j'ai besoin de, etc.).
There is one PDF document per video lesson. You need to keep the vocabulary section visible when you watch the video for the first time and hide the sentences underneath. Listen to each sentence in English, then try to build them in French using the "blocks" of vocabulary provided, then check your answer. The PDFs are also useful for revision purposes.
At the end of level 1, you will also find a test and a list of verbs and conjugations that we have learnt. Use this list as reference only.

I have reached lesson 10 of 30 of the Parlez Francais course. Can I just say it is the best of a few courses I have used. I am lower intermediate but I am speaking more, understanding more and find your explanations simple and concise. It's so much easier to follow. I always pause after each sentence to speak the French translation and I rarely get it wrong. If I am wrong, there is always a simple explanation to correct me. Thanks, I look forward to the next 20.
I like that I am learning phrases and not just single words and confusing grammar. I find that phrases stick in your memory better and it's easier to recall them instead of making sentences with individual words.
