As far as business French is concerned, you have a number of options:
If you are a beginner, you will need to learn all the basic general French before diving in. You can do this with me if you wish, one-to-one or in a small group (max. 4 people). I will however start teaching you business vocabulary from the onset. If you are an intermediate (B1) to advanced learner (C1), you can either:

I have never felt so competent in French, it is a great feeling, I read French news and listen to French radio and can understand the majority of the text. |
Claire is intuitive, matching her teaching style to suit my learning style, this can be tricky as I have a history of higher education and I am surprised at how difficult learning French is for me. Claire does not (further) damage my self-confidence when teaching and correcting. |

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How long will it take me to become fluent?
A. It depends on how much time you can devote to it. I recommend you study at least 15 minutes a day, more if you can. The ideal situation is, of course, total immersion in France but if that’s not possible, you need to recreate those conditions at home – watch French films and YouTube videos, listen to French podcasts, read French books, etc.
Q. Do I need to do anything between lessons?
A. Yes. If you only rely on your 1 hour a week only, you will get nowhere. I recommend you go over everything we do again and again, even if it’s just 10 minutes here and there. Be prepared to memorise it, too.
My YouTube videos are designed to help you revise effectively. You can find them HERE.
Q. Will you give me homework?
A. If you like, but if you follow the above recommendations, you shouldn’t need extra homework. As every lesson builds on to the previous one, you will need to know each one well before you can make any worthwhile progress.
Q. I have this app/book/audio method I like, can I use it?
A. Absolutely. The more you do, the better. It’s always a good idea to vary your sources of French information, so you can get used to different voices, styles and accents.
Q. Are there any tricks to learn quicker?
A. I find it very effective to revise just before bed. Sleep helps consolidate what you have just learnt. Plus, the 15-minutes a day works really well for me (that’s how I am learning Spanish at the moment).
Q. What is your teaching method?
A. It is based on learning the top 20% of the language you will use 80% of the time. I will get you used to speaking from day 1. Each lesson is structured around speaking, listening, and reading (writing only for those who need it, for instance business French students) and you will learn at your own pace.
Q. What if I have learning difficulties or special needs?
A. It’s not a problem – I can accommodate your specific circumstances, as long as you have the drive to learn!
Q. Can I see you and have a chat before committing?
A. Of course. You can visit if you are local, or we can have a 30-minute no-obligation chat and a trial lesson over Zoom for £1.
